About Us
We started as group of believers from various denominational affiliations gathering together weekly in a home with one common bond and focus, Jesus Christ. We gathered to worship Him, to hear from Him, to partner with Him in His Kingdom activity, and to fellowship with and encourage one another. As we sought the King and His Kingdom, we saw Him give liberty to those bound, heal and bind-up the brokenhearted, comfort and console those who mourn, and encourage, build-up, and refresh His people.
God shaped and established us as a “House of Mercy”, where folks could come and experience God’s mercy, grace and love; and receive healing, hope, encouragement, and purpose. Over time, it became apparent that a core group of people had started to be established and take shape under God’s direction and leadership, and “Bethesda Fellowship” was birthed.
We truly recognize the meaning of our name. In John 5, the Bible tells of a pool called Bethesda near Jerusalem where Jesus healed a man who had been lame for over thirty-eight years. In the Hebrew language the word Bethesda means “House of Mercy”. On that day the lame man encountered and experienced mercy in the person of Jesus Christ and was forever changed.
God has intended that we, as a people, would be a living expression of the meaning of our name, “A House of Mercy”. A house that would make know the person and passion of Jesus Christ and where the broken and whole can unite together to celebrate and experience the Kingdom of God.
We invite you to come and experience Bethesda, “A House of Mercy” …a place of healing and hope, abounding in the Grace of God.
Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ…
Bethesda Fellowship
